Paulo Coelho Institute

At present, the PAULO COELHO Institute provides financial support to Creche Escola Meninos da Luz, Lar Paulo de Tarso (in the Pavão-Pavãozinho favela, Rio de Janeiro), who look after these 430 children.

In 1996 we started with 80 children, and now with our continued effort we are supporting 430 children.

The real warriors behind the project are: Isabella de Moraes and Yolanda de Moraes Rego.

1996 haben Paulo Coelho und seine Frau, Christina Oiticica, das Paulo Coelho Institut gegründet, eine ausschließlich aus

den Tantiemen des Autors finanzierte Stiftung, die unterprivilegierte und ausgegrenzte Mitglieder der brasilianischen

Gesellschaft, insbesondere Kinder, alte Menschen und psychisch Kranke, unterstützt und fördert.

Zurzeit finanziert das Institut die Kinderkrippe Escola Meninos de Luz und Lar Paulo de Tarso in der Pavão-Pavãozinho-

Favela in Rio de Janeiro, das 1996 mit 80 Kindern begann, gegenwärtig 430 Kinder betreut und in naher Zukunft sogar 800

Kinder unterstützen will.
